In the role of Principal Advisor to the Chief Engineer you will provide timely, independent and informed advice on major policies and key issues, organisational accountabilities and inter-agency activities. You will be required to collaborate and partner with stakeholders both within the branch and across the department, provide assurance and sound corporate governance around all business-related matters across the branch.

The successful applicant will be required to establish and maintain robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Deputy Directors-General, General Managers and Regional Management Teams to manage the executive service function of the Chief Engineer's office, ensuring the efficient flow of issues and correspondence, establishing appropriate priorities and successful delivery of project outcomes. There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however, previous experience in an executive support role would be highly regarded.
