The Merchandising team has the unique ability to see beyond trends to identify what’s next to deliver the right product to the right places at the right time and price. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? As the Pacific Merchandising Manager, your primary purpose is to lead the merchandising account team, and to create and deliver merchandising assortments and strategies through embodying three priorities: Consumerist: Amplify the voice of the consumer and marketplace upstream to Asia Pacific and Latin America Merchandise leaders (APLA) based in our World Headquarters, to turn insights into line plan action. Curator: Deliver curated, productive & profitable assortments with an "end in mind" vision and to win with the consumer Connector: Land the consumer & product strategy, through close partnership with the Account Marketplace Unit (MPU) Cross-Functional Team WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON? Through close collaboration with APLA Marketplace Merchandising teams, you will drive Strategic Partners assortment priorities aligned to consumer and marketplace strategy. You will be a highly effective and engaged team leader, and member of the MPU cross-functional team to support seasonal planning and in-season trading. Participating in regular business tear-downs (inclusive of seasonal hindsights) to stay informed on the business and staying on top of consumer trends whilst being able to translate insights to in-season and future season actions is critical. In addition to this you will need to carefully balance the art and science to build strategic partner seasonal assortments to serve our Pacific consumers and be required to present to groups the merchandise strategies built in partnership with stakeholders. In this role you will need a seasonless mindset to move at the pace of the consumer, balancing newness and consistency and to drive portfolio health and balance through support of Corporate strategy, and in-depth knowledge of local business needs. WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH? You will be the conduit between the customer and Nike regarding product & merchandising strategies, working closely with Planning, Marketing and fellow merchandising teammates. WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE? - 3-year/university degree (e.g. Bachelor’s). Relevant experience in product merchandising, planning, sales and/or product marketing. Two additional years of experience is generally accepted in lieu of degree level education (applies to 3-year Degree or greater). - Retail acumen with proficiency in retail and profit-based metrics - Multi-season assortment planning and pricing experience and insights. - Marketplace awareness including digital and physical retail, consumer, competitors, and products - Proficient translating insights and retail results into actionable strategies and plans - Be a strong communicator with an ability to influence diverse and cross-functional teams, manage complex projects and balance multiple workstreams - Leadership and people management experience/skills.
