Merchandise Manager – Lead Our Growth and Innovation

STEDI is seeking a strategic and experienced Merchandise Manager to lead our category teams and drive growth across all product lines.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product Development, this pivotal leadership role will oversee the profitability and expansion of all STEDI & Runvacategories while managing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strong leadership and development for category teams.

- Set and execute strategic direction and category plans.

- Identify and capitalize on market and product opportunities.

- Lead new product development across categories and businesses.

- Accelerate speed to market and achieve inventory targets.

- Develop and manage annual category budgets to grow sales and gross profit.

- Introduce at least 15% new products annually.

- Conduct comprehensive range reviews to optimize product offerings.

- Maintain and grow supplier and factory relationships, managing regular QBRs.

- Drive improvements in trading terms and execute RFP/RFQ processes with procurement.

- Ensure optimal product availability by working closely with the replenishment team.

- Develop methodologies to measure market size and category share.

- Foster a safe and productive working environment.

About You

- 8–10+ years in category management within fast-paced, high-volume consumer or trade sectors.

- Strong team leadership, sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills.

- Expertise in cost management and problem-solving.

- Proficient in data and financial analysis.

- Relevant tertiary qualification (University or Trade).

- Project management experience is a plus.

- Knowledge and/or passion for 4x4 lighting preferred.
