**In this role you will**:
Develop intelligence plan including collection plan and operational actions plan.Provide the management team with timely and professional advice on issues concerning intelligence systems, procedures and issues as they relate to a correctional environmentIdentify and report on emerging trends to the management team from a strategic point of view as they relate to a correctional environmentProvide high-level briefings to the management team on matters which affect the security and good order of the centreDevelop and plan specific operations within the correctional environmentRecord analysis in QCS Intelligence SystemDevelop operational and tactical hypotheses regarding security risk issues within correctional centre.Using endorsed QCSIG methodology including for example use of office automation software and dedicated intelligence software such as Analyst NotebookLiaise with the General Manager, QCS Intelligence Group in Central Office as well as external security agencies on behalf of the General ManagerShare outcome of intelligence process using QCS Intelligence systemUndertake Escape Risk AssessmentsUndertake assessments designed to inform placement decisions in endorsed and accepted formats including oral and written intelligence products and in accordance with QCS dissemination of information proceduresConsult a wide-range of stakeholders in order to conduct intelligence assessments and brief various elements of management and senior management on issues relating to security and intelligenceCompile Intelligence assessments at both a strategic and tactical Intelligence levelPrepare and present Intelligence ReportsProvide support to members of social and criminal justice partner organisationsFacilitate team meetings and other activities within the unitMaintain high level knowledge of contemporary practicesContribute to the knowledge base of the teamEnsure the safety and security of self and othersManage the security and confidentiality of records and information

**The essential requirements for this role are**: Knowledge and understanding of the intelligence discipline on matters which affect the security and good order of the correctional environment will be highly regardedExperience working with sensitive information will be highly regardedSuperior capability in the use of information management systems will be highly regardedAbility to analyse, design and evaluate intelligence systems and proceduresSound knowledge of intelligence planning, processes and productsPreparation of complex reports and submissionsHigh level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsGood interviewing techniques with particular emphasis on Human source managementHigh competence level in operating Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and the ability to construct complex spreadsheets and charts using Microsoft ExcelSound knowledge of principles of crime scene management
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirementsSuccessful completion or the willingness to complete the Introduction to Intelligence (ATP005) module of the Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Police Intelligence) or a similar or higher qualification would be highly desirable.
