**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a health, safety, and environment specialist (HSE) to play an integral role in guiding safe operations across all aspects of EG Australia. The HSE Specialist through clear documentation of HSE process, practice, and safety management systems will reflect compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.

**RESPONSIBILITIES IN A SNAPSHOT**

Reporting directly to the Head of HSE, you will:

- Support the development and maintenance of HSE policy standards, measures and controls (including, controls in Reflexis).
- Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of EG Australia’s Safety Management System, Food Safety Manual, Food Safety Plan and associated resources such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Maintenance of resources including, EG Australia Store Manual and incident reporting database (including, Pulse).
- Advise EG Operations, Business Assurance Team and other support functions for all applicable requirements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation/regulation, standards and codes.
- Advise and support management of organisational risk relating to HSE matters, identify emerging or systemic HESS risks and assist/advise stakeholders with managing these risks.
- Support Operations Management in the conduct of serious and high potential near miss incident investigations, root/cause analysis and advise on any corrective actions.
- Act as the primary contact and technical expert for all relevant HSE and Food Safety regulators including, notifications to regulatory authorities, consultations with relevant agencies, and coordinating, and support with responses to regulator notices, inspections, and audits.
- Provide advice in relation to EG’s contractor safety induction and management program including reviewing and approving safety management plans.
- Contribute to HSE strategy and achievement of HSE KPIs that deliver Safe Operations for EG.

**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
- Tertiary Qualifications or relevant business experience in Health & Safety or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in technical HSE roles including incident investigation, HSE Legislation, Safety Management systems, and behavioural based safety.
- Able to promote positive and effective relationships across EG Australia and with regulators.
- A great team player able to work collaboratively and with business stakeholders in building support and ownership of HSE initiatives and practices.
- Sound communicator able to engage effectively with people at all levels with an ability to drive successful HSE outcomes.
- Multi-site HSE/Food Safety experience highly desirable.
