Are you a practical and outcomes focused health, safety and environment professional who thrives in complex, high risk operational settings? Our client, a well established industrial services organisation, is growing its safety capability across one of its major Sydney sites and is seeking an experienced HSE Improvement Business Partner to join a collaborative and forward looking team.

This is a key supporting operations within a large industrial facility, where you will influence improvement programs and partner with multiple stakeholders across business critical projects.

About the role

You will be a visible HSE leader who partners with operational teams, managers and contractors to lift capability, reduce risk and embed sustainable safety improvements. This role combines hands on support with strategic influence, where you will analyse performance data, identify opportunities for enhancement, and implement initiatives that make a real difference to people and operations. You will be trusted to mentor and coach, support incident response, and drive a proactive safety culture in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders, frontline teams and contractors to increase health, safety and environmental knowledge, performance and culture.
  • Review and analyse systems of work to identify and deliver safety improvement strategies aligned with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and implement HSE improvement programs, awareness campaigns and tailored training across the site.
  • Provide specialist HSE support to operational areas including audits, inspections, incident response and investigations.
  • Collect, analyse and report on HSE performance metrics to uncover trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote visible leadership by modelling safe behaviour and sound environmental stewardship at all times.
  • Engage with clients, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure consistent expectations and performance.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum five years practical experience in HSE business partnering, advisory or improvement roles.
  • Proven experience leading safety improvement initiatives in high risk environments such as manufacturing, mining, defence or construction.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability and ability to achieve collaborative outcomes across complex projects.
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, risk management principles and industry best practice.
  • Qualifications in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean or Six Sigma desirable.

What is on offer

  • A hands on role with variety and genuine influence across a complex and high risk industrial environment.
  • A supportive and professional team with visible leadership support.
  • Opportunity to lead practical safety improvement programs and make a measurable impact.

If you are ready to make an impact and take HSE to the next level, we would like to hear from you.
