Drafter - Design

Macmahon’s civil entity, TMM Group, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Designer Drafter to join the Brisbane design team.

TMM Group delivers design and construction services to the resource, mining, energy and infrastructure industries across Australia. The TMM design team delivers a variety of civil designs from prefeasibility and concept studies, through to full detailed design.

The Civil Designer Drafter will provide support to the civil design team based in the Brisbane office and will be responsible for civil design, modelling and drafting. Projects vary greatly in size and scope but are predominantly mining based civil infrastructure related including light and heavy vehicle roads, drainage, bulk earthworks, on/off site water management, flood levees, traffic studies and other mine related infrastructure.

The level 21 Brisbane office is conveniently located a 2 minute walk from Central Station with end of journey facilities for those self-powering their commute.

**The role**
- Provide civil design for bulk earthworks, roads, rail, tailings and earth dams, levees and surface water drainage networks
- Prepare Material Take Offs/Bill of Quantities
- Prepare and check engineering drawings
- Participate in and contribute to design reviews
- Support other sectors of the business
- Ability to efficiently deliver tasks in line with projects budgets and timeframes
- Ability to understand key priorities and deliver for the consult team
- Ability to work alone, unsupervised and be productive and constructive for the team
- A civil engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution (B.Tech, Diploma etc.)
- 3 - 5 years of demonstrated design experience including bulk earthworks, site grading, surface water management, access and haul roads, and earth structures
- Experienced in the use of civil design package 12D Model and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to civil engineering (e.g. ANCOLD, Austroads etc) including Australian and ISO codes and standards
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Prior experience within the resource and mining sectors preferred
