Westbourne Grammar is committed to fostering a vibrant and engaging learning environment in the Junior School (Prep - Year 4). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Junior School.
As a member of the Junior School Leadership Team, the Head of Teaching and Learning - Junior School will drive the educational vision, curriculum design, and pedagogical approaches for Prep to Year 4. This pivotal role nurtures a love for learning from the earliest years, helping students develop curiosity, creativity, and essential literacy, numeracy, and inquiry skills.
Guided by Reggio Emilia principles, this role embraces student agency, co-constructed learning experiences, and democratic classrooms that honour the "100 Languages of Children." With a focus on play-based learning, exploration, and hands-on experiences, the Head of Teaching and Learning cultivates an environment where students actively engage, think critically, and develop confidence in their learning journey.
This is a full-time (FTE 1.0) role, comprising FTE 0.6 leadership and 0.4 FTE teaching accountabilities.
