**Role Description/Criteria**

The Numeracy Coach is responsible for creating a positive learning environment that promotes growth in every student. This will be achieved by collaborating with the Learning and Teaching Team and classroom teachers to use data to make collective decisions about intervention and support across the school. As a member of staff, the Numeracy Coach is responsible for developing respectful, collaborative relationships to contribute to a positive school climate and culture.

Applicants should demonstrate experience in the following:

- Facilitate whole school Mathematics planning during Professional Learning Team (PLT’s) meetings
- Oversee the Mathematics Curriculum in consultation with the Deputy Principal & Learning and teaching Coach and the implementation of the Victorian Curriculum.
- Maintain a comprehensive and relevant curriculum that incorporates a Scope & Sequence (where relevant) to ensure all content areas are covered across the school.
- Ensure the implementation of the Whole School Assessment Schedule in the area of Mathematics.
- Continue developing student learning at their point of need by building the capacity of teachers in the area of Mathematics.
- Be involved in the formulation of tracking tools and the gathering/analysis of relevant data.
- Use data to inform effective teaching and learning to address student needs.
- Attend professional development in the area of Mathematics, including network meetings.
- Support teachers, through coaching, mentoring and modelling, to deliver targeted, focused and explicit teaching.
- Plan and run Numeracy Intervention and Enhancement targeted programs with identified children in consultation with the Learning Diversity Coach, Deputy Principal and Learning & Teaching Coach and Community Learning Coaches.
- Have an active presence in classrooms and planning sessions.
- Have strong interpersonal skills that foster, empower and encourage team practices in delivering high-impact learning and teaching.
- Support teachers, through coaching, mentoring and modelling, to deliver targeted, focused and explicit teaching.
- Support teachers in monitoring, developing and enhancing learning and teaching outcomes.
- Keep abreast of current developments in the learning and teaching of Mathematics to primary school-aged students.
- Provide relevant and timely feedback on content delivery, pedagogy and differentiated learning.
- In consultation with the Learning Diversity Coach, monitor students at risk and ensure the learning and teaching program meets the learning needs of all cohorts, including high-performing students.
