An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Category Manager to work closely with the Trade Marketing team, National Trade and Marketing Managers. You will be responsible for national ranging, activity planning and execution of the category within the retail and omni channel environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop category strategies to drive sales growth and margins for clients
- Develop promotional & marketing activity to attract shoppers
- Be accountable for driving performance of the category portfolio through sales, merchandise income, profitability, and growth through partnering with Suppliers
- Negotiate with suppliers to provide successful promotional strategies
- Manage and present category performance, trends and growth to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure data integrity and pricing and promotional information is maintained to the highest possible standards
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to manage the launch of new products, speed to market, provision of market leading value and launch of strategic initiatives
**Your experience**:
- Strong commercial acumen
- Experience in sales or category role with Liquor or FMCG
- Success in developing and executing a sound, customer-focused category plan.
- A drive & desire to achieve in a competitive market
- Proven success in negotiating and influencing at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use the insights to drive a solution
- Tertiary business qualifications highly regarded
- The role would suit a current National Account Executive, Key Account Manager or Category Manager within the FMCG industry or even a highly experienced BDM that wants to come off the road who understands category management
