About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced retail Category Manager to join our Merchandise team at Supercheap Auto to run a fast-paced, high turnover category. You will work with an Assistant Category Manager and alongside Planners, to support you in delivering the strategic direction and tactical initiatives for the category.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Maintain effective relationships with domestic Trade Partners and our overseas sourcing team
- Develop a customer focussed category strategy, develop the product range & promotional program that delivers strategic plan & commercial performance
- Negotiate beneficial outcomes for the category to ensure opportunities for improved category performance
- Manage the optimisation of profitability through effective promotional planning, inventory management and packaging efficiencies
- Ensure key stakeholders & steering committees are regularly updated on communications relevant to the category, including promotional plans, range changes and inventory management

To be successful in this role
- You will come from a background as a Category or Product Manager or from a background in Buying
- Excellent communicator and strong negotiation skills
- You will have demonstrated experience working in an Omni-Channel Retailer
- You are excellent with your stakeholder engagement and management, and are used to dealing with a wide portfolio of trade partners
- You are experienced working in a cross-functional environment and understand how to collaborative effectively when working in this environment
- We use SAP and BW, experience with these systems would be highly advantageous
- You can work at pace, be agile, manage shifting priorities and understand the demands of running a complex category
- You have experience in people leadership and understand how to build capability with your team
