About us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety leads the delivery of justice services in Victoria. Supporting the strategic objective of “building a high performance justice system”, the Recruitment Services team is pivotal to its success.
The Youth Employment Scheme (YES) is a Victorian State Government funded initiative designed to increase the workforce participation of young people, particularly those facing significant barriers to employment.
About the role
The Talent and Programs Adviser works closely with the Assistant Manager, Employment Programs and Career Transition by providing high level support across the following employment programs:
- Youth Employment Scheme (YES)
- Youth Employment Program
- Youth Cadetship Scheme
- Intern Programs
- Apprenticeship Employment Network
- Graduate Program
- Redeployment
**The role of the Talent and Programs Adviser is to**:
- lead the YES remodel project which involves conducting research, planning and delivery of a new pilot program
- research best practice methodologies and provide recommendations for our YES model
- develop and execute a plan to deliver the new YES model
- coordinate a pilot program of the new YES model, including evaluation techniques to measure the successful of the new YES model
- provide support across several other employment programs including redeployment.
About you
- recent experience in developing and/or coordinating employment programs
- proven experience managing a diverse and geographically spread stakeholder group to deliver consistent and high-quality service
- able to lead research and propose recommendations
- able to deliver project outcomes within agreed timelines.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).
