Healthy Lifestyles Australia (HLA) has provided dietetic/nutrition, sports dietitian, exercise physiology and diabetes education services in Queensland for the past 15 years, currently servicing more than 130 rural and metropolitan medical centres and facilities including our head office facilities. We specialize in chronic disease management and prevention, however can assist in a wide variety of cases (e.g. bariatric nutrition, disability nutrition, sports performance, aged care consultation, insurance work, public speaking, group education classes, etc). Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in the Australian population and to prevent and manage chronic disease through physical activity and nutrition.

**About The Role**
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic Credentialled Diabetes Educator (ADEA) to become a part of a proactive company and work collaboratively with our allied health team.

You will be working across the Ipswich and Brisbane region within medical centres, and allied health facilities. The successful applicant will be working on a casual basis (1-2 days per week), stepping into an existing patient load, and will be servicing medical centers and allied health facilities which have an established referral base.

- **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:_
- Providing one-on-one consultation with the patient where you will offer evidence based education and assistance to improve diabetes management. Cases will cover pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes.
- Facilitating and instructing community diabetes education sessions if required.
- Travel to the required service delivery location and provide exemplary service to your clients.
- **Skills and Experience**_
- Credentialled Diabetes Educator through the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) This credentialling is **ESSENTIAL**.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain rapport.
- Have a current Drivers License and car and demonstrate and commit to the travel associated with the position.
