**About us**
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
**About the role**
The Family Violence Operations and Practice Officer will provide a range of high-level administrative and research support to the Family Violence Supervising Magistrate and the FVPPU within a complex and sensitive environment. The role is responsible for supporting the provision of stakeholder communications with Magistrates, senior managers, heads of jurisdictions, the legal community and various other stakeholders. The Operations and Practice Officer will assist the Family Violence Supervising Magistrate and the FVPPU to deliver an effective and timely contribution to the Court's response to Family Violence.
**About you**
The role requires someone capable of developing and maintaining relationships with judiciary, MCV staff and relevant external stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, spreadsheets and the design of presentations is required. The role requires the ability to collect and analyse information and data to inform decision making and/or provide recommendations. Experience in providing high-level and confidential support to an Executive Officer or Senior Manager inlcuding experience with event planning and management is required. A background in law and the ability to interpret legislation is desirable including an understanding of court practice.
