**The Company**

Our client is a leading global mining company that produces and markets a diverse range of metals and minerals. With operations in over 35 countries, they are committed to responsible mining practices that minimise their impact on the environment and support the communities in which they operate. We are currently assisting them in the recruitment of a passionate Environment and Community Coordinator or Officer to join the Hunter Valley site-based team.

The Environment and Community Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the companies environment and community programs in the Upper Hunter region. You will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the sites Complex Environmental Management System. Compliance monitoring, water management, audits, cultural heritage and community engagement will also be key components of your role.

This role will involve working closely with local stakeholders, including community groups, regulators, and NGOs, to ensure that our operations are aligned with our commitments to environmental sustainability and community development.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintenance of the Environmental Management System and Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Coordinate environmental monitoring activities to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Support the environmental management plans and support the implementation of environmental projects.
- Drive a safety culture through the implementation of safety initiatives and HSEC plan actions to provide constant focus and continuous improvement of HSEC systems and performance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

**About You**
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with local stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of the NSW legislative requirements
- Previous experience with mining or a similar role is highly advantageous but not required.
