
Service Coordinator

**Responsibilities**:
- Manage rosters and staff allocation, ensuring participants are matched with preferred staff members.
- Replace absent staff members and consult with participants to collaborate on required staff members.
- Review the environment and staff in collaboration with participants, ensuring their requirements and strategies are met.
- Train staff on participant requirements, monitor and review staff work practices, and adjust practices using positive coaching.
- Maintain timekeeping to ensure staff attendance and reliability.
- Prepare and submit performance reports, receive complaints, and resolve problems efficiently.
- Build capacity in staff and participants by supporting them to direct their lives and services, including crisis and resilience development.
- Assist participants in understanding their NDIS plan funding and its purpose.
- Identify participant confidence and skills, assisting in decision-making regarding services.
- Create support and action plans for participant plan implementation where practical.
- Manage rosters, administration, and the intake process while incorporating Child Safe Standards in practice.
**Model and Reinforce Organisational Values**:
- Reflect and uphold NDIS principles and values in behaviour and practice.
- Ensure workers understand and demonstrate good practice based on NDIS principles.
- Support and reinforce a work culture promoting mutual respect and zero tolerance of behaviour that doesn't uphold participant rights.
- Engage with and learn from people with lived experience as colleagues and advisers.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the work culture.
**Promote Quality and Consistency**:
- Use the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework to communicate role expectations and good practice.
- Encourage collaborative work among the participant's support team, other services, and the participant's informal support network.
- Provide opportunities for workers to receive and provide feedback, refine skills, and reflect on their values and biases.
- Encourage workers to monitor and report meaningful participant outcomes.
**Support Health and Manage Risk**:
- Identify and manage risks associated with participants and support workers in doing the same.
- Ensure workers understand their roles in supporting participants' safety and health.
- Report unauthorised use of restrictive practices and ensure workers are prepared for incidents, crises, or emergencies.
- Support workers in managing workplace safety risks in line with organisational policy.
**Foster and Develop a Capable Workforce**:
- Ensure workers are well-matched to meet participant needs and preferences.
- Provide regular, timely feedback on work performance and arrange training and development opportunities.
- Support workers in managing their well-being and self-care, recognising signs of burnout.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in the NDIS or disability area.
- Current Worker Screening approval.
- Completion of NDIS Induction Module (for new workers).
- Valid Driver's License.
**Experience**:
- Experience working within NDIS principles and related legislative mechanisms.
- Familiarity with NDIS Practice Standards, including the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
- Experience with governance frameworks addressing clinical and practice governance.
- Knowledge of management principles, including motivation, coaching, and change management.
**Skills**:
- Ability to provide advice and consult with staff.
- Strong report preparation skills and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and organisational skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other basic computer programs.
- Strong time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring staff to build capacity.
