Contracts Manager

Sydney, AU**The Project**:
John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella will soon commence design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package.

With a contract worth $1.63 billion, the Eastern Tunnelling Package includes construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. Starting at The Bays, tunnel boring machines will cross the harbour near the Anzac Bridge, before heading to the new Pyrmont station and then under Darling Harbour before reaching Hunter Street in the heart of the CBD.

This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project.

Once completed, Sydney Metro West will double rail capacity between greater Paramatta and the Sydney CBD, with travel times of around 20 minutes between the two centres.

**The role**:
We are looking to engage a Contracts Manager with the capability to work within the Commercial function on this iconic project based in Pyrmont.

You will work with a high performing and supportive team of senior delivery staff who will work with you to deliver both the project and your career aspirations.

This role will see you utilise your people and stakeholder management, technical and commercial skills on a major infrastructure project within a safe, engaging and high performing team environment.
- You will see yourself as an established Contracts Manager or Senior Contract Administrator looking to further their career in a key leadership role within a top tier contractor on major projects.
- You will have a clear drive to achieve quality commercial outcomes and have demonstrated success in a similar role, we are interested in your skill base and potential not the size of your past projects.
- Direct and organise control of all cost engineering, cost reporting and forecasting
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a register of subcontractors and identify all key data in relation to each subcontract
- Ensure selected subcontractors and suppliers are acceptable to the project.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and ensure all subcontractor agreements are closely aligned to the project’s risk management principals
- Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH’s authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
