The Department for Energy and Mining is seeking an exceptional leader to join its Regulatory Risk and Resource Tenure Branch as **General Manager, Energy Resources Licensing**. This is a rare opportunity to influence the strategic direction of upstream energy regulation and land access frameworks critical to the state’s energy transition and economic development.

**About the opportunity**
The **General Manager, Energy Resource Licensing** is responsible for leading the development and implementation of legislation, policies, and programs governing licensing and land access under the _Energy Resources Act 2000_ and the _Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023_.

**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Strong leadership experience in regulation, compliance, or legal roles - ideally in government or the energy/resources sector.
- Good understanding of energy laws, including the Energy Resources Act 2000, Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023, Native Title Act 1993, and related legislation.
- Able to think strategically, lead change, and offer practical, clear advice to senior stakeholders.
- Confident working in complex and high-pressure environments.
- Skilled in working with a wide range of people - including Traditional Owner groups, industry, and the public.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable: Qualifications in management or legal related discipline are highly desirable.

**Remuneration**:
MAS3 $127,859 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

**Special Conditions**:

- This is a contract/term vacancy up to 12 months.
