The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Operational Performance & Compliance Manager to provide a critical role within Corrections and Justice Services.
About the business unit
Marngoneet Correctional Centre is a 559 male medium security facility that houses a mix of sentenced and remand prisoners, the role of the facility is to contain prisoners safely, securely and humanely, focusing on the individual needs of the men with the aim of providing a successful transition back into the community or on their continued journey through the prison system. As part of Marngoneet, the Karreenga Annexe contains an additional 300 protection prisoners bringing the entire prison population to 859 spread across two prison sites but managed by the one leadership team.
About the role
As the Operational Performance & Compliance Manager you will deliver multi-faceted services aimed at supporting and influencing decision making processes within the facility. The position provides leadership, advice, reporting and assistance across a variety of custodial and non-custodial portfolios with its primary focus on quality with service delivery to achieve organisational goals.
The Operational Performance & Compliance Manager requires advanced knowledge of business management principles in order to provide high level analysis, evaluation and reporting to support of business objectives.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of business unit and corporate reporting systems for Marngoneet Correctional Centre
- Manage and maintain an effective compliance framework within Marngoneet Correctional Centre
- Plan, co-ordinate and manage a range of projects, including researching and preparing preliminary briefing papers and managing the interface between projects and their implementation.
- Lead and motivate project teams involved in projects and reviews and liaise, consult and provide advice to the General Manager and the Marngoneet Leadership Team.

About you
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in research and implementation and evaluation of projects.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, analytical and conceptual skills and a demonstrated ability to provide leadership through innovative, practical solutions, authoritative advice and effective negotiation at a senior level with both Corrections Victoria and external agencies.
- Demonstrated experience directing, overseeing, and managing daily business activities and developing and implementing effective business strategies
- Demonstrated ability in work organisation and project management skills, including the capacity to manage priorities within a changing environment, maintain attention to detail and successfully balance competing priorities.
Relevant experience within a custodial environment is desirable.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
