- The Communications and Media Intern assists with internal and external marketing and communications content through various mediums, whilst building their skills in the Media, Marketing and Communications areas
- Annual salary is $53,771 + 11.5% super

**About the role**:
Under guidance from the Media Manager and the Manager Marketing & Communications:

- Review information and create draft content for web, social media, online and traditional advertising, and
electronic direct mail (EDM), including the Impact publication;
courses funded by government
- Update content on digital channels including sourcing images and video clips, naming and uploading images,
copy and online events;
- Record and undertake basic editing of photographs, videos and/or audio content to optimise them for the relevant platform(s) to which they will be published;
- Assist with curating AMES Intranet (KIT) and Hub Channel content; and
- Use Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) principles to optimise copy's online ranking

**To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria**:

- Minimum of a Diploma in a communications related discipline - including Communications,
Design, Print Production or new media or studying towards same; this could include overseas
qualifications without Australian accreditation
- Lived experience of humanitarian settlement or migration, and ability to speak a second language is highly regarded
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information in a logical manner for a diverse audience
- Active knowledge of a range of current social media and communication platforms
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders to understand their requirements
- Strong computer skills including common graphic design, video editing and web publishing packages, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
- Attention to detail
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
- Positive attitude toward work and the ability to provide a high level of customer service for the Unit
- An interest in pursuing a career in Marketing and/or Communications is essential
