**Your next career opportunity**
As a Technical Skills Laboratory Officer at the Melbourne School of Health Sciences, you'll play a crucial role in supporting high-quality clinical simulation teaching programs. You'll primarily focus on Optometry and Vision Sciences, while also supporting other health disciplines. This position offers you the opportunity to contribute directly to student learning experiences, manage state-of-the-art equipment, and work in a collaborative, values-driven environment.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Maintain Teaching Laboratories: Ensure Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences teaching labs and storage rooms are well-organised and fully functional, including equipment maintenance and supplies management.
- Support Teaching Activities: Set up and dismantle equipment for practical sessions, assist with student inductions, and provide technical support to academic staff.
- Manage Resources: Handle purchase orders, equipment acquisitions, and laboratory access, while ensuring timely payment of invoices.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with the School OHS Advisor to maintain safety guidelines and practices in teaching and research spaces.

**You may be a great fit if**:
You are a well-organised professional with excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.

**You may also**:

- Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Possess strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Have experience working in healthcare or tertiary education settings.
- Be comfortable with occasional out-of-hours work and some lifting of equipment.
- Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
