Health Information Clerk

In this role, you will be involved in, but not restricted to:
- **Preparation and scanning of patient information and coordination with other clerks to make information available for patient care**:
- **Release of patient information in accordance with our privacy procedures to support patient care external to Austin Health**:
- **Quality checking of scanned information to ensure the high quality of our scanned medical record (SMR)**:
- **Merging of patient records when duplicate Unit Record Numbers occur**:
- **Updating information (patient and record) on various information systems**:
- **Greeting callers and other customers as part of the reception function**:
- **Medical record filing and retrieval**:
- **Sorting of internal mail**
Essential Qualities:
- **Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills**:
- **Good oral and written communication skills**:
- **Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure**:
- **Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Patient Administration Systems)**:
- **Previous front line customer service experience**:
- **Experience with medical terminology would be advantageous**
