**About the team**:
The Chemical and Biological Metrology Branch provides measurement standards such as certified reference materials. These include pure chemicals, gas standards, matrix materials and DNA standards. The branch also co-ordinates proficiency testing programs to assist laboratories assess their ongoing quality and performance. The branch houses three of Australia’s national testing laboratories for anti-doping, forensic drugs and ultra-trace analysis. The branch delivers services across all of these fields and carries out research and development to enhance our capabilities in line with national and international requirements.

As the EA to the branch, you will work on a wide range of tasks from secretariat support, event planning, assisting with procurements, recruitment administration, compliance reporting, problem solving and other daily administrative tasks.

**What you will do**:
The Executive Assistant’s (EA) primary role is to provide executive assistance and administrative support to the General Manager of the Chemical & Biological Metrology Branch of NMI and to other senior staff within the branch. In this role, the EA may also provide general support to various NMI branches and/or sections, when required. The EA is responsible for the delivery of timely, efficient and effective high-level administration and executive assistance.

Key tasks include:

- assisting with the coordination of meetings and provision of secretariat support, including management of actions,
- assisting with events co-ordination, domestic and international travel and other logistics,
- assisting with financial administration, including procurements, invoicing etc,
- Assisting with HR co-ordination including recruitment administration,
- liaison with NMI and DISR colleagues in dealing with administrative tasks and information requests,
- collaborating with the General Manager and management team to deliver communication materials e.g. presentations, videos, web content and publication management,
- maintaining and updating administrative practices, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery,
- carrying out a range of other administrative dutie
