**Job Description**:
We are seeking a leader in Safety, passionate and driven, with HSE Management experience within a Dangerous Goods or Major Hazard Facility environment. Our MHF Facility in Tomago, provides specialized logistics services for the safe and secure movement, handling and storage of Bulk dangerous goods, servicing some of the major mining customers on the East Coast and SA.
Partnering with our site leadership teams and operators you will thrive on building relationships, driving accountability and creating meaningful engagement to further nurture and develop our Safety Obsessed culture of genuine care for self and others. Responsible for operational safety and compliance, the successful incumbent fulfil licensing requirements associated with the Tomago Major Hazard Facility (MHF), including maintenance of HSE management systems and statutory reporting requirements.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Engage in the Safety Obsessed cultural change program, including provision of support and initiatives to line management to achieve the goal of a Safety Obsessed workplace.
- Actively support and assist in the consultation and successful implementation of the Global HSE Management System and liaise with key stakeholders to action HSE matters and ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote and support excellent customer relations; attend and participate in customer HSE forums.
- Refine and implement communication plans to disseminate information in relation to HSE including but not limited to HSE Learnings, HSE Alerts, Global and Business Unit HSE Management System updates and Toll Reporting and Compliance System (TRAC) to ensure our people are kept informed.
- Review the quality of information submitted by the Northern NSW region into TRAC including but not limited to safety conversations, hazard identifications, corrective actions, incidents and investigations and person hours.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs that enhances the understanding and effectiveness of the Global and Business Unit HSE Management System, risk management, safety leadership, hazard reduction, TRAC and HSE continuous improvement.
- Undertake HSE and compliance audits,and regular site HSE inspections with business stakeholders to drive improvements on site conditions.
- Take the lead in coaching and mentoring your stakeholder groups on HSE strategies and activities.
**Qualifications**:
**Knowledge/Experience**
- 5-7 years practical experience in a HSE role, including Indepth knowledge and exposure to bulk dangerous goods, preferably within the transport or resources sector.
**Technical/Professional Skills required**
- Detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in the interpretation and analysis of HSE legislation and audit criteria.
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, management, stakeholders and industry experts and write high quality reports.
- Experience in conducting incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others including legislators, external auditors, accreditation bodies, industry experts.
- Competent computing skills, advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
**Qualifications - **_Education and/or professional_
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Dangerous Goods qualifications / training is desirable.
- Auditing qualifications / training is desirable.
