**THE ROLE**

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for reliable, self-motivated Trade Assistants to join our team as Trainee Asset Inspectors working on the Energy Queensland Network. We are seeking individuals based in QLD around the areas of Rockhampton, Emerald, Toowoomba and Burnett.

As a Trainee Asset Inspector, you will provide support to the Asset Inspector by performing tasks including, excavating soil around base of power poles using both manual tools i.e., Crowbar/Shovel/Jackhammer or Mechanical trencher equipment where appropriate and other duties as required.
- Some key responsibilities include:_
- Adhere to the Energy Queensland Standards and Lines Defect Classification Manual.
- Clearing vegetation from around the base of poles.
- Report all potential and existing environmental hazards.
- Conducting minor defect repairs to ground supports, stays etc.
- Assisting in all aspects of the asset inspection process as directed by the Asset Inspector.
- Manual excavation around the base of power poles so that below ground inspections can be conducted.
- Ensure all equipment including vehicles, plant and materials are maintained in a clean, well maintained, and good working order.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Current QLD Manual Drivers Licence.
- Construction White Card.
- Current Provide CPR HLTAID009 - must be willing to obtain.
- Current Remote First Aid HLTAID013 - must be willing to obtain.
- Flexible to work overtime or away from home on a 10 days on / 4 days off roster (as required) and able to travel to multiple site locations across QLD.
- Ability to work under direction as well as autonomously with your own initiative, be self-motivated and outcome focuses.
- Ability to work in an outside environment and to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Well-developed communication skills and able to liaise with co-workers and supervisors.
- Adaptable, focused, and efficient and report issues, when necessary, in a timely manner.
