A well-recognised Sydney council has an opportunity for a design excellence coordinator on a contract basis.

**Your new company**

A highly regarded council based within central Sydney has a contract opportunity currently available for a Design Excellence Coordinator. This organisation has a thriving and engaged team currently in place and this opportunity will allow for exciting new projects coming onboard which will allow for a more connected, liveable and engaged LGA.

**Your new role**

This council is a key leader in design excellence processes and this role will require the coordinator to assure utilisation and adherence to the framework included within the cities' competitive design policies. This framework includes but is not limited to Sydney LEP 2012, Competitive Design Policy and Design Excellence Strategy. Other responsibilities include:

- Coordinate on various design competitions and provide applicant updates
- Process internal reviews on design excellence strategies in accordance with City policies
- Review and advise on State Significant Development design strategies
- Attendance of conventions as a council representative and maintain register as required

**What you'll need to succeed**

You will have previous experience in planning or urban design working in NSW private or government sector space. A minimum of 4 years NSW Planning experience is required. You will be involved in discussions with the public. Therefore, you must be able to communicate effectively on complex and sensitive matters.

**What you'll get in return**

You will be competitively reimbursed for your work as well as an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
