Council is seeking a suitability qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time position of Work Health and Safety Partner and Systems Officer. Experience is preferred, however, Council is willing to support the training and development of the right person, making this the perfect career change opportunity
Based at our head office in Sale, Victoria and reporting into the Coordinator Work Health and Safety, you will work alongside business leaders and teams across our various sites within Wellington Shire. This role offers a great variety of challenging functions, with a diverse mix of both field and office work. Your key duties will be to assist with the facilitation of ongoing, best practice Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programs, processes, reporting and the currency and maintenance of the organisations OHS incident and reporting system / software.

- Qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health and/or relevant discipline. (A willingness to successfully undertake OHS Certifications within 12 months of accepting the role will be considered)
- A strong understanding of theory, practice and legislation relating to work health and safety, risk management and injury management.
- Ability to use and maintain a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Demonstrated ability to manage OH&S projects from conception through to implementation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
