**About the Role**:
Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant on a Part time ongoing basis, in one of the on-going positions. Based as Dandenong Hospital.

We have two positions that we are currently recruiting for:
**Position 1: Emergency Department (72 hours per fortnight)**
- Week 1: Tuesday - Friday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- Week 2: Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- Week 3: Thursday - Sunday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- Week 4: Monday - Tuesday and Friday - Sunday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

**Position 2: Ward based (48 hours per fortnight)**
- Week 1 - 4: Saturday, Sunday and Monday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Ward and department cleaning
- Patient transfers
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Ward errands

**About Us**

Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

**About You**

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills for our digital learning system
