Portfolio Actuarial Analyst

Avant Mutual are looking to hire a Portfolio Actuarial Analyst on a permanent, full-time basis in our Sydney CBD office. This role will see you developing an in-depth understanding of our pricing and portfolio management operations and delivering analysis and analytics to assist in optimising these operations and portfolios.
**The key responsibilities include**:

- Deliver actuarial analysis to support pricing, portfolio management and optimisation of risk intervention outcomes.
- Support analytics for portfolio monitoring.
- Support reporting for pricing and claims monitoring.
- Deliver high quality and technically sound advice that provides strategic insight for Avant’s business.
- Assist the Head of Portfolio with miscellaneous administration of the member portfolio ensuring all documentation and customer files are maintained in accordance with Avant’s policies and procedures.
- Provide portfolio analysis and performance monitoring to support portfolio management and product pricing.
- Support preparation of Executive level reports to demonstrate the implications and opportunities coming out of the portfolio analysis.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor of Actuarial Studies degree required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking ability, with drive and determination to achieve outcomes.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience in various software packages such as SAS, Python, SQL, Qlik Sense, Tableau etc. is highly desirable.
