Your Role
As an Actuarial Analyst in the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Reserving Actuarial team, you'll be responsible for data manipulation and modelling to generate and support the recommendation of actuarial liabilities of the Workers Compensation portfolio. You'll also deliver business advisory insights across claims experience, performance trends, underlying risks and issues.
What you will do
- Work on data manipulation and modelling to support actuarial liabilities for the Workers Compensation portfolio.
- Deliver business advisory insights across claims experience, performance trends, and underlying risks and issues.
- Provide analytical insights to stakeholders to drive business decisions; assist senior team members with technically backed advice.
- Develop technical skills across reserving, capital, and related areas (e.g., building actuarial models, coding in SAS or R).
- Contribute to delivering processes and projects efficiently, suggest improvements, and produce clear reports and dashboards using tools like R Markdown.
- Be based in either Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne) on a permanent full-time basis.
About You
- Actuarial Degree or tertiary qualifications in an analytical field
- 0-2 years experience in actuarial or a relevant role
- Coding experience in R and/or SAS is ideal but not essential; proficiency in Excel is preferred
