Clients & Markets Advisor

Kennedys is looking for a Clients & Markets Advisor to join our national Business Development team. The Business Development function supports the strategic and tactical activities of Kennedys in Australia, and plays an active role in wider initiatives and campaigns in the Asia Pacific region and globally. As a result of significant growth in the business we are expanding our BD team.

The Clients & Markets Advisor provides support for the pursuit of new business, and day to day practice and client development activities across Kennedys' Australian offices. This involves utilising and maintaining the tools, systems and processes for client relationship management and practice development.

Reporting to the BD & Marketing Manager APAC as part of a small team, you will play a key role supporting partners and lawyers in all Australian offices. Regardless of where the role is based, all team members are expected to operate on a national basis - including occasional interstate travel.

This is a busy, varied, hands-on role for a capable, experienced BD professional who enjoys a small team environment, wants to build their career in professional services, and is ready to take the step up into a manager role.

Kennedys global Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets. In Australia, the BD function supports the strategic and tactical activities of Kennedys, and plays an active role in wider initiatives and campaigns in Asia Pacific and globally. The Australian BD team works as part of the global BD team, having presence in six countries.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Clients and Markets**

Work with the Senior BD & Marketing Manager APAC, Clients and Markets Manager, partners to support practice, industry and client-specific business development.
- Work with partners and client teams to develop and implement holistic BD plans for key clients and practice groups
- Manage a schedule of client team meetings to ensure progress against plan
- Conduct desk and other market research to assist with clients and practice development
- Manage client contact lists to improve focus on key relationship targets and ROI
- Enable and facilitate local participation in global/regional clients and markets initiatives
- Assist with client feedback / service reviews
- Assist with client performance reporting
- Project manage and compile legal directory submissions and awards

**Pursuits**

To be a point of contact for day to day pursuit activity including:

- Preparing bespoke capability documents and team sheets for specific client opportunities
- Facilitating local input to regional/global bids
- Maintaining the quality and currency of Australian content in the global pursuits text library
- Maintain the Master CV library, expertise inventory and pursuit library
- Maintain and build up the firm's tenders and SLA repository
- Ensure that pursuit and pipeline activity is accurately recorded in Interaction
- Assisting with tender debriefs and other analytics as required

**Required experience**
- Relevant degree or vocational qualifications with 3+ years' of work experience in a corporate environment
- Critical thinking, the ability to think through issues and map out effective solutions
- Commercial judgment
- Strong project management and planning skills, ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities
- Organised, methodical and deadline/output focused
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with change
- Strategic and pragmatic approach to stakeholder management
