What is the role?
Applications are sought for a suitably qualified applicants to be considered for the role of Project Officer - Response Policing Systems within the Chief Information Officer Command.
The Response Policing Systems (RPS) section within the CIO command are responsible for sustainment and project works relating to various Response Policing Capabilities including AFP’s national radio communications and body worn camera capabilities.
The CIO RPS section requires a Project Officer to work with the Radio and Electronic Support team to undertake planning, scheduling and programming of tasks across Australia.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
In addition to the work level standards performance expectations, the Project Officer is responsible for managing the delivery of RPS projects to agreed schedule outcomes.
**The Project Officer is responsible for**:
Assist Program Managers/Coordinator in the preparation of the program and project schedules and uploading milestones in identified tool
Automate the upload of Microsoft Schedules milestones into identified tools
Manage team workload to ensure milestones are met
Manage the delivery of milestones including but not limited to liaison with relevant stakeholders and issue escalation
Facilitate regular scheduling meetings with relevant stakeholders
Prepare regular schedule reporting as necessary
Assist with logístical and administrative tasks as required
Working effectively in a small team environment
Liaise with vendors to progress tasks and related documentation
Use technical knowledge to develop complex scheduling to enable delivery of projects and business as usual tasks
Conduct some occasional travel domestically and internationally
Essential Requirements
A Negative 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work flexibly and achieve outcomes in busy challenging environments
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Experience in the use of MS Project 2013/2016
Experience working in ICT Projects
Experience working in P25 Law Enforcement Radio Projects
Experience and knowledge with Australian State Based Radio Networks
Experience and knowledge of law enforcement Body Work Camera capabilities
