**The Role**
Reporting to the Vulnerability Management Team Lead, the APS6 Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for managing security tools to detect and report on security vulnerabilities in the department’s ICT network. As part of this team, you will have great opportunities to work directly with the end-to-end management of cutting-edge technologies and techniques to minimise the risk of a successful cyber intrusion on a large government network.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Cyber Security Analyst **(APS level 6)** may include:

- Produce vulnerability reports for systems based on the outputs of scans or other intelligence, providing this information to relevant stakeholders for action.
- Research vulnerability trends and information, feeding this information back to the team to continuously improve practices.
- System administration of relevant vulnerability management tools, such as system patching, upgrades, and tuning.
- Developing and maintaining system documentation and standard operating procedures with a high attention to detail.
- Promptly action requests assigned to the team through the department’s incident management system.

**Qualifications and Education**
- Tertiary qualifications in a cyber security or ICT-related discipline are highly desirable.
- Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.
