**The Opportunity**
Come and join our Child Care Service on a full-time basis (38 hours per week).
We are a 3-room service catering for 53 children per day - this includes a small number of before and after school places. This will be a senior position where you will be part of a team, who pride themselves in offering a boutique type service to our families. You will report to and assist the manager in aspects of the service while taking care of our children.

**Main duties**
- Sound understanding of the National Quality Standard and National Framework.
- Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Awareness of current issues in children’s services.
- Demonstrated ability to work in partnerships with families.
- Demonstrated professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children.
- Extensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safety issues relating to children and staff.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager in all areas of curriculum development and documentation, parent and community liaison, and any other areas as the need arises.
- Support the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan and the National Quality Standard.
- Ensure the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager is informed of any problem arising which would affect the children or the smooth running of the service.
- Any other duties, within the scope of the position, as specified by the Nominated Supervisor/ Service Manager.
- Support the Service’s programming promoting commitment to continual improvement to the quality of care provided within each room.
- Follow housekeeping practices, which ensure that equipment is maintained at an optimal level, and the service is kept clean and tidy.
- Assist in the completion of the daily, weekly and monthly duties (cleaning, maintenance etc.) to ensure a safe, clean and hygienic environment that is welcoming to all.
- Assist in providing an environment that is safe, interesting and appealing.
- Always act within the guidelines set out in the Code of Ethics (Early Childhood Australia Inc.)
- Facilitate the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement and Rating and Assessment.
**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant Diploma in childcare and at least 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- CPR including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
- Acceptance from Working with Children Check
- Professional Work Ethics
- Mentoring and developing junior staff
