**Job Description**:

- Certificate III in Telecommunications or
- Bachelor of Engineering or Computing equivalent
- Exposure in the Telstra network arena
- Have extensive experience in Technical Appraisal / Design of different Telstra wideband service
- Should have knowledge on Hybrid solution using CIENA, DWDM & SDH Technology
- Working knowledge of internal & external designs for Telstra's Wideband Customer products & services such as Ethernet, IP, ISDN ETSI, Frame Relay, Leased Line circuits, Digital Data Networks, ATM etc.
- Working knowledge of the Telstra SDH, EoSDH Transmission, Copper and IP networks.
- Experience with Telstra Database of Records & Applications along with Read & Write access such as IDEAL, TCSS, TPD, MULTIMAN, CRAMER, MACS, NPAMS, Node Manager, MITS, GDD, CADLINK, MAGPIE, CAT, Widefeas, etc;
- Design knowledge about DWDM, Fibre Optics, CIENA devices, SDH, Ethernet, PDH, Mega link, Epicentre & EVO customer & exchange side equipment, Network, Optomux, VCTS, UNTU &
- Strong understanding of overall Design Operations from Preliminary Design Phase up to and including As-built submissions.
- Review & Analyze Telstra network infrastructure to design wideband service to Telstra
- Identifying the best solution from existing infrastructure that satisfies the Telstra customer’s requirements to create a transmission path for connecting the customer to the Telstra network consistent with Telstra business rules and telecommunications frameworks.
- Identifying infrastructure shortfalls and make recommendations to Telstra for the introduction of additional cable requirements where the network has no coverage and or has exhausted any spare capacity.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols and Layer 2 & 3 technologies (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, Static routing, Spanning Tree, VTP, VLANs)
- Copper and Optical Fibre networks understanding
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite including Visio
- Team player, collaborative and consultative, high attention to detail,
- Able to work effectively on their own or in a group environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
