Every Human Disability Services is looking for a unique person who has the ability to provide special care for a person that needs a long term buddy. This position is a **Casual Position starting with 4/8 hours per week and are currently on Tuesday evenings and every second Saturday evening.** To be successful for this position you **must** have the following: - NDIS Worker screening check and Working with Children Check - NDIS Orientation Modules ( orientation and effective communication) - First Aid & CPR and Medication administration Certificate - Have a Reliable and fully insured vehicle - Sound communication reporting skills - Experience in Mental Health - Experience in Challenging Behaviours - Sound knowledge in Positive Behaviour Support and Mealtime Management - **Ability to clean and assist with household tasks if required** **Job Role** As a support worker you will be required to provide care and attention for a young man "Steve" who lives with autism and complex mental health illnesses. Steve in non-speaking can display challenging behaviours when communications break down. The 20 year old lives at home with his family and you will dedicate yourself to learning the dynamics of the household and fit in as part of his family. Every Human works closely with Steve's specialist practitioners to help him and his family live a safe and fulfilling life together. Being part of this team will not only be personally rewarding, it will give you a great understanding in human rights and individual support. This position could also lead to the potential of providing support to new onboarding clients if you have the capacity and availability.
