**About the role**

The Clinical Support Consultant is responsible for the provision of expert clinical care support to residential Aged Care Facilities in Victoria. This position is 38 hours per fortnight.

In this role you will:

- Provide clinical support to services leadership and their teams and provide guidance on the Aged Care standards.
- Actively contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of models of care to support the provision of quality, cost effective care to residents and clients.
- Support the evaluation of clinical practice in Services and identify solutions to improve practices.
- Evaluate delivery of individualised nursing care to residents / clients based on relevant legislation, guidelines and standards; ensure clinical practice is evidence based to facilitate positive resident and client outcomes.
- Provide expertise / specialist knowledge in the area of Gerontic nursing and an understanding of professional issues as they relate to aged care.
- Support services to understand and embed in practice policy and procedure in the arena of clinical practice.
- Support the progression of strategies for the responsive and effective integration of regional aged care services.

**About you**

This role would be ideal for an experienced Level 2 Registered Nurse with several years aged care experience or an experienced Care Manager who is looking for a new challenge. You are often recognised for your highly developed problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills.

As the Care Manager, ideally your experience and qualifications include:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse;
- Minimum three years’ working as a Registered Nurse with Senior Clinical Care responsibilities in Aged Care.
- Applied knowledge of residential aged care and home care accreditation standards with a demonstrated record of achieving and maintaining full compliance across a number of services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ACFI/ANACC;
- Experience in educating, mentoring and motivating staff;
- Superior communication skills both written and verbal;
- Undergo a National Personal Insolvency Check.
- National Police Certificate - or the ability to acquire
