**Who we are**:
The Mitani Group is a third-generation family business success story.

Initially pioneering the commercial production of chicken salt, The Mitani Group has built relationships with food companies to expand into other areas of food production including wet blending and extrusion, dry blending, emulsifications and dressings.

Under the leadership of the new generation, they are well positioned for further growth and development across the business and industry and are seeking an ambitious and motivated leader to join them in achieving their growth agenda

**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking an experienced General Manager with an established track record of leading a high performing cross functional operations team with exceptional communication skills. The role is key to the growth and development of the business and will report to the Advisory Board. The role will provide you with opportunities to utilise your strong people management skills whilst working alongside a passionate group of people who thrive on an entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic.

**Key Responsibilities, not limited to**:

- Maintain safe working environments, by adopting safe work practices, procedures and behaviours.
- Engaging and collaborative leadership of a cross functional operations team within a food manufacturing environment;
- Accountability for the Production, Supply Chain and Engineering functions and associated operational performance measures;
- Creating clarity and cohesion between cross functional operational teams to deliver on and communicate the day-to-day business production plans;
- Prepare Advisory Board and Management reports with a strong focus on financial performance of labour and materials variance

**Not essential, but it would be fantastic if you had**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent with at least 10-15 years-experience in leading teams in a food manufacturing environment;
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and equipment operation
- Hands on day-to-day leadership of cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong change management, collaboration and coordination skills with attention to detail and follow-up;
- Highly organised, with an ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines and remain calm under pressure;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
