**About the opportunity**:
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Youth Caseworker to join our Doorways for Youth team in Southwest Sydney. In this role, you’ll support young people (aged 18-24) who are homeless and residing in our short-term crisis accommodation. You’ll walk alongside them as they build independent living skills, re-engage with education or employment, and work towards long-term housing stability.
- Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based casework to young people experiencing complex challenges.
- Support young people in developing daily living, social, and community engagement skills.
- Work within a 24/7 roster, including sleepover shifts across two houses.
- Collaborate with external services to ensure wraparound support.
- Assist with household routines, service evaluation, and community activities (like NAIDOC and Youth Week).
- Advocate for and act in the best interests of young people, keeping their voices at the centre of your work.

Your Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in social sciences and experience in casework with young people.
- Strong understanding of the issues impacting young people who are homeless, including those from First Nations and LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Confidence in conducting assessments, developing case plans, and working alongside other services.
- Strong communication skills - including advocacy, conflict resolution and written communication.
- A current driver’s licence and current NSW WWCC
- A positive, flexible attitude and a strong commitment to client-centred care.
