Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at **Thomas Embling Hospital** and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites. Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women's unit.

**About the Role**:

- Working closely with consumers and staff to provide support and consultation
- Encourage and empower consumers to become more involved in their own therapy and treatment and help consumers to be more aware of their options.
- Offer suggestions and advice to clinical staff regarding how certain aspects of service may be experienced from a consumer perspective.
- Encourage and empower consumers to provide meaningful input to service delivery and evaluation.

**Duties**:

- _ Incorporate consumer perspective and Lived experience into service delivery and design_
- _ Convene, facilitate, report and provide leadership in improving consumer experience including facilitating group engagement_
- _ Report and represent the consumer perspective in Forensicares committee and working groups._
- _ be committed to quality improvement in service development, delivery and design._

**About You**:

- Committed to best outcomes for consumers on their journey of recovery.
- have a lived/living experience as a service user or Carer in the Mental Health or Criminal justice system.
- Ability to work within a multi disciplined complex environment.
- Proven ability to operate within autonomy and ability to negotiate consumer participation matters which involve discussions with members of management, external bodies and individuals.

**COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence**
