The primary objective of the Test Automation Specialist position is to develop and implement test automation frameworks for functional testing across projects, enabling the team to undertake automated testing of repeatable manual testing tasks.

The responsibilities will include:

- automating tests of all system changes, including configuration changes and regression testing.
- Test Automation Specialist will have experience with tools provisioned at the Commission, SmartBear and Azure DevOps

**Specific Key Accountabilities are detailed below**:
**1.**
**Testing Management**
- Contribute towards defining Test Automation Strategy to implement automation of manual testing tasks across projects
- Identify and automate manual test cases where necessary.
- Mentor and guide Test Analysts to develop automation testing competency
- Develop test strategies/plan, provide test estimates and identify required resources
- Creation and documentation of test cases based on business requirements and other business artefacts
- Creating or running test reports an communicating within the project team.
- Assist in classifying defects to ensure categories of failures are identified as well as individual cases
- Be able to effectively recommend defect triage priority and understand if/when to escalate

**2. Working relationships and Interpersonal skills**
- Work with a small multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed team
- Effective communication across a wide range of audiences and ability to adapt approach to suit the audience
- Ability to effectively communicate, help others to understand and demonstrate how success/failure of a requirement/solution
- Be able to effectively communicate with those who demonstrate slow technical or testing expertise/knowledge

**3. Managing Testing Lifecycle**
- Lead Testing and UAT activities including working with the PM or BA to get Business executing UAT
- Integration testing
- Defect Identification, Management and Communication
- Working to resolve and unblock testing including requirements clarifications (either with BA or requirement owner

**Essential Requirements**
- Experience with the automation tool SmartBear - Test Compete.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience covering all areas of the testing lifecycle in multiple industries
- Experience in working in a collaborative and distributed Agile environment with mínimal direction and supervision
- Experience in Agile development practices
