**Location**: Parramatta
**Salary range starting from**: $131,851.00 + Super
**Tenure**: Full Time, Permanent
**What we are looking for**:
- A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business
- Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
- A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, or demonstrated relevant experience
- Experience in the design and/or installation of geotechnical and dam instrumentation for the purpose of performance monitoring.
- Demonstrated skills in monitoring data management, including quality of data and its interrogation and extraction for reporting.
- Analytical and investigative skills and the ability to read and interpret data trends.
- Ability to produce practical asset plans based on an array of requirements and balancing the asset management life cycle activities including operations, maintenance and capital works.
- Demonstrated experience in database management and manipulation, instrumentation, electrical and electronic and communication systems.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.

**What you will work on**:
- Perform routine audits and health assessments of existing instruments performance, reliability and efficiency, and investigate and report on departures or opportunities for improvement; provide ongoing training to operators in reading and calibrating monitoring instruments to ensure the instruments are used correctly and maintained as per the standards.
- Lead projects involving the augmentation to existing, or installation of new dam monitoring instrumentation systems
- Implement field data collection procedures and practices; implement quality assurance (QA) rules and notification procedures; report deviations outside approved limits including potential causes so as to initiate investigations and corrective action by the Dam Safety Engineers; monitor and report QA performance.
- Ensure that accurate, timely, clear and concise monitoring instrumentation data is available to meet organisational requirements; identify, analyse, investigate and provide recommendations on key changes, opportunities and risks relating to maintenance and dissemination of dam monitoring data.
- Undertake the analysis of whole of life-cycle instrumentation asset costs and recommend cost minimisation measures.
- Provide strategic governance associated with instrumentation monitoring including designs, standards, product selection, operation, maintenance and skill requirements to meet dam safety monitoring activity standards.

With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
