We are currently seeking an Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF) Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne.
**About the Role**:
The EMSF Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the Engineering Management Systems Framework (EMSF) in line with the RTO’s Safety Management System. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Developing and maintaining the EMSF and associated standards, procedures, manuals, and templates
- Overseeing EMSF coverage across all phases of the project lifecycle
- Managing waiver and type approval processes, ensuring alignment with safety assurance standards such as EN 50126/50129, ISO 45001, and local regulations
- Tracking and managing the lifecycle of waivers, ensuring validity, compliance, and periodic review
- Collaborating with engineering, maintenance, asset management, and operations teams to align waiver and type approval requirements
- Supporting risk mitigation activities by working closely with safety teams to ensure risks are controlled SFAIRP
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies, and processes
- Preparing periodic reports and dashboards on waiver and type approval activities, highlighting trends, risks, and compliance performance
- Monitoring active approvals to ensure timely renewals or updates
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation, including waiver requests, type approval submissions, risk assessments, and regulator correspondence
- Conducting audits and reviews to ensure documentation is up to date and accessible
**About You**:
You will bring a strong background in engineering, operations, or safety assurance, with a proven ability to manage waiver and type approval processes in a regulated environment. You thrive on detail, can navigate complex technical and regulatory frameworks, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver safe and compliant outcomes. Key experience and attributes include:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not essential.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering, operations, or safety assurance, ideally in rail, infrastructure, or O&M sectors
- Hands-on experience managing waivers, type approvals, or similar regulatory compliance processes
- Solid understanding of technical standards, safety assurance, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., EN 50126/50129, Rail Safety National Law, ISO 9001)
- Familiarity with asset management, maintenance practices, and operational requirements in O&M environments
- Experience managing documentation across the full project lifecycle
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, clients, regulators, and internal teams
- Confidence interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and safety assurance documents
- A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with strong attention to detail and a focus on compliance and safety
