Menu Development Contractor

Food by WHSmith currently operates a large number of hospital cafés across NSW, QLD, and SA, providing food, beverages, and convenience retail to hospital staff and the general public.
Reporting to the Head of Food, the Menu Development Contractor is responsible for the development of recipes across the Food network of stores nationally.
**This project will deliver the below tasks within a three-month period. We are open to a three-month contract or an ABN Consultant.**
**Scope of Project**:
- Revise current recipes to improve taste profile
- Develop and complete the costings for proposed new recipes in addition to the current WHSmith Food range nationally / Develop recipes and cyclic menus that improve margin and sales mix
- Assessment of the current range to ensure alignment with the Healthy Choices framework
- Complete the NIP panels (Nutritional information Panels) for the recipes, including allergen information
- Update current all costings
- Developing new products and menu items
- Create Production sheets for batch cooking
- Update -Cyclic menus
- Update Allergens on recipes
- Update catering menu
- Create Video training of recipes for loading onto L & D system
- Update stock take files with current costs
- Focus on growth areas of food development, lifestyle, medical, religious
**Requirements**:
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery and Menu Development
- Project Management experience in scoping tasks / timelines
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Menu Development
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement menu strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong business acumen and time management
