John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3. The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links.

Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports. As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange. JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.

**Stage 1**: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection - a new high-capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.

**Stage 3**: Domestic Terminal access - an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany.

**About the Role**:
We are currently looking for an experienced** Safety Advisor **to play a key role in providing interventions, guidance, and documentation on WHS to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Guide the Construction Teams in developing safety culture
- Comply with the Project’s WHS Policy, Management Plans, Systems, Standards and Procedures
- Advise the Project Managers and supervisory staff of any identified WHS risks in the workplace
- Establish, monitor and maintain and communicate current information on legislation, codes of practice, relevant Australia Standards, hazard alerts and industry WHS developments
- Conduct regular inspections and observations of the site
- Manage and verify the workplace return to work program for injured or ill workers.
- Identify and report any identified changes on the worksite that could affect WHS in the workplace
- Facilitate the development of WHS consultation arrangements with workers and subcontractors
- Participate in the delivery of safety inductions, prestart meetings, toolbox meetings, safety awareness programs and other training and communication forums as required.
- Research and assist with the development of safety policies specific to the project.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.

**What You’ll Need to Succeed**:

- Knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011
- Certificate IV in WHS
- A minimum of 3 years working in a similar role within the Construction industry
