**Details**:Are you a strategic leader with a passion for volunteer membership, education and training? Are you ready to play a vital role in enhancing the ACT State emergency Service emergency response and community safety?

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join us as Assistant Director of Membership and Training. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing the ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) volunteering lifecycle including attraction, retention, training and recognition for our valuable unpaid workforce.

As Assistant Director, you will lead our Learning and Development team in designing and implementing a range of programs aimed at enhancing skills acquisition, maintenance, and professional growth. Your strategic insights will drive the identification of training needs of ACTSES and the seamless execution of tailored solutions to meet those needs.

In this role you will be producing high quality analysis of training and membership needs, assist with the development management and reporting of the ACTSES training budget while ensuring value for money propositions and government financial/procurement policy is followed. A key to this role is your exceptional communication and negotiation skills, which are pivotal in maintaining positive engagement across teams, volunteer membership, and the broader ACT Emergency Services Agency (ACTESA).

To excel in this role, you will have expertise in adult education design and development, along with a solid understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Your proactive approach, combined with impeccable organisational skills, will ensure timely responses to evolving volunteer and business demands while demonstrating unwavering integrity and professionalism.

**Eligibility/Other requirements**:

- Experience and Qualifications in design and delivery of adult education and an understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector is highly desirable.
- A qualification in Training and Assessment or the ability to achieve it is highly desirable
- A strong understanding of Volunteers in emergency management is desirable.
- This position requires an ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
- Background and Security clearance checks will be conducted including National Police Check.
- A minimum of a ‘C Class drivers’ licence.
