**The Role**
An Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) opportunity exists at the EL 1 level within the Collins Class Submarine Combat System Program. The Submarines Division within the National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

As an ILS Manager (Acquisition) you will require a number of skills to support the upgrade of Defence’s submarine communications and sonar capability.

This role requires an understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. They will have people management skills to identify opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement.

The ILS Manager will:

- Be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics work within an integrated workforce.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of ILS (Acquisition) functions and be responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function.
- Develop, manage and deliver aspects of transitioning an acquisition project to a sustainment organisation in compliance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System.
- Communicate with stakeholders and line management regarding ILS aspects across the Defence materiel capability lifecycle including preparing briefs, proposals, reports and presentations.
- Evaluate materiel logistics activities, understand critical factors for success and initiate activities to ensure alignment with program or project objectives.
- Possess a sound knowledge of relevant Engineering and Logistics Information Systems, and associated governance and assurance framework requirement.

**About our Team**
Submarine Combat Systems Program within National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the acquisition and sustainment of Collins Class submarine Program.

Information on Defence employees’ working conditions, including an attractive remuneration package and a generous superannuation contribution (15.4%), can be sourced from the Defence Enterprise Agreement.

They will be required to govern and assure contractor deliverables/documents, to ensure the contractor design of the logistics support system will meet the requirements of Defence.

They must be able to learn and seek information on Defence policy, Integrated Logistic Support and Logistic Support Analysis autonomously. Prior knowledge of Defence logistics and support systems is desirable.
