**Are you passionate about delivering Excellence in Category management and eager to step up into a category management role within the health industry? Join our dynamic Wholesale Category Team as a Trainee Category Manager for Health and work closely with experienced professionals to develop your skills and knowledge. You will be responsible for managing a specific portfolio of categories in the health sector and work collaboratively with the broader category management function.

As a Trainee Category Manager in Wholesale, you will take ownership of the quality of your work, team dynamics, and delivery outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include analysing data to gain insights on product performance, industry trends, ensuring competitive pricing and strong stock availability to maximise service to our wholesale pharmacy customers. You will drive sales, margin and supplier income to exceed category budgets, driving financial performance and operational KPIs. With a strong understanding of category management best practices, you will contribute to the strategic goals and initiatives of our company.

**These responsibilities of the role
- Collaborate with Category, Merchandise Planning, Commercial Finance, Inventory, Supply and Demand teams
- Analyse data to define and align categories with customer segmentation.
- Curate range, manage pricing and promotions to meet the needs of different customer groups
- Lead category strategy development aligned with company goals.
- Present and manage implementation of category strategy to stakeholders.
- Analyse trends and seek strategic opportunities for category growth.
- Ensure compliance with end-to-end Category Management processes.
- Manage inventory levels, inventory health and supplier agreements for optimal stock availability and customer service levels
- Build frictionless Supplier Relationships to drive service levels and speed to market
- Take responsibility for category P&L, revenue, and sales growth.
- Negotiate and deliver B2B Supplier Marketing offers to drive sales and income growt

**About the Role**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Category Assistant, Buying/Merchandise Assistant, or Account Manager.
- Desirable experience in the pharmaceutical industry with an understanding of government and scheme compliance.
- Strong category management background and basic understanding of best practices.
- Sound analytical skills to draw insights and support performance improvements.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with the team.
- Perseverance, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
