A fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly expanding Australian retailer. Based in Alexandria NSW, dusk is Australia’s leading retailer for candles, home décor and gift - We currently have over 140 stores across Australia and NZ, with plans for further growth in the coming years. We are looking to hire a talented and ambitious **Merchandise Assistant** on a full-time basis, who is eager to grow and develop their career.

**Reporting into the **_Senior Product Developer_**, the key responsibilities of this role include**:

- Purchase order management and maintenance
- Ensure ownership and accuracy of all purchase orders
- Ensure all sales confirmations are returned and signed from suppliers within a timely manner
- Assist in the Product Development process
- Organise and maintain merchandise samples and assist in the pre-production and ship sample process
- Manage communication channels of new products and ranges between head office and retail stores
- Build and maintain relationships internally, and with local and offshore suppliers
- Work with wider product team to ensure all samples are ordered for all approved products and maintained in the appropriate sample room location

**To be successful, you will have**:

- 2-3 years’ experience as a buying or product development assistant
- A passion for retail, products and the latest trends
- A team player who is keen to learn
- Strong interpersonal communication and written skills
- Strong proficient in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Initiative to improve current processes and develop new processes
- Devil is in the detail - data integrity is key in this role
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
