The role of Design Assistant is a key role working within the Design team, to assist in the development of ranges for major wholesale and retail customers. This includes assisting in the design of ranges from product development through to bulk production; maintaining production schedules; to ensure the product is delivered on time, to predetermined design specifications and order deadlines. This is a fast paced position requiring high level organisational skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Co-ordinate generally and help with Range Release.
- Track and manage SMS Ranges / tag/ hang / price sticker etc.
- Assist in all Photoshoots including dressing, preparing rack and sending call sheets prior to shoot.
- Update Glass with new range details.
- Help with catalogue updates and finalisation of layout and data, as well as print and bind catalogues as required.
- Liaise with model and hair/makeup agencies as required.
- Assist in scouting and confirming shoot locations.
- Maintaining photography studio and accessories.
- Monitor competitor brands and aspirational brands for design concepts, fabrications etc.
- Be prepared to pitch ideas to Brand Manager and Director weekly if required.
- Ensure showroom is always creatively presented and up to date so the brand is at its best at all times.
- Visit stores and give feedback and competitors report every fortnight.
- Research and present market trends.
- Sketch garments using illustrator and photoshop when required.
- Ensure Critical Path is always updated in a timely manner with latest information to ensure it is accurate for weekly production meetings.
- Bringing critical path information to production meetings.
- Taking minutes and distributing to team during/after production meetings.
- Helping to follow up repeat orders and ensuring orders are shipped/aired as per critical path timelines

**You will need**:

- Tertiary education in fashion / design related qualification.
- Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong knowledge of the Adobe creative suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Genuine and demonstrated talent for Design / Product Development
